“

Lord make me an instrument of peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy.

Oh Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; for it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born into eternal life.

Atari Pitfall Psychadelic Nightmare

Been too busy with a home repair project to work on Tracks 11 & 12. So after not doing anything in the studio in days & becoming antsy to play again, I decided to spend an hour of evening free time just jamming for fun.

Blue Mosrite Mark 2 in Action!

Oh Yes, there is no mistaking that  sound, the BRIDGE pickup on a 1960’s Mosrite Mark II. Notice the guitar in the video- the pickup switch is DOWN, he’s only using the bridge pickup.

Silvertone Test Paul & Carla Chesney

Still on the hunt for that 60’s Mosrite Mark I sound. Tonight Carla reluctantly offered 90 seconds of drum help for a fascinating test: 1969 Silvertone (Teisco) model 1442 with 1445L pickups tuned super low and only bridge pickup active. This is a two track only recording: One track is guitar- RP50 effect pedal directly to Pro Tools via the DIGI-002 interface, and the 2nd track is one condenser mic picking up drums and also the guitar audio coming out of the drum booth speakers. Interesting stereo effect!

Sounds Like Roy Orbison To Me

To my absolute delight, I found the Chrome Cranks vocalist on this song, “Eight Track Mind” to sound alot like Roy Orbison in an awesome way I’ve never heard before.  Unfortunately, their other songs reflect more of a meatloaf flavoring, but this track is truly a collectible treasure in my .mp3 archives.

Listen

This quick song is a fun first attempt at recording the 1960’s Trump hollowbody guitar. Didn’t mean to get all ‘emo’ about it at the end, guess it’s this depressing weather. The most fascinating thing I’ve noticed so far in my first time playing a hollowbody, is the amazing sound from the neck pickup, as opposed to the bridge pickup I am used to using on a solidbody.  Here it is recorded from the output of an effect pedal, due to the fact that I am having difficulty recording a quality sound from my amp, though that is actually what sounds better.
